“Kazuya, did you know there’s a legend that says the Kazama clan were descended from Angels?.” Jun recalled to Kazuya who was folding his arms, sitting on the wooden tatami of the traditional old Mishima house.
The house was a few minutes away from Tokyo. It was where all the Mishima clan relatives used to stay. Jinpachi Mishima used to stay here too before Heihachi built the mansion. Kazuya brought her here on his own account because he thought she’d like it. He was right, Jun loved the house and she appreciated his kind gesture towards her. She sat down beside him and placed her hand on top of his, looking at the wonderful scenery in front of them. The birds were singing and the music from the lake’s tides were soothing.
Kazuya was wearing a traditional dark blue Kimono while Jun an elegant white and red Kimono with patterns that they both had found here. Kazuya glanced at her as she placed her hand on top of his. Never wavering his eyes off her, he thought she looked so beautiful in that outfit.
“It's just some old legends and tales my family elders used to say to me and my big brother when we were young, Our power was said to come from the heavens although back then i thought these were just fairy tales. The Kazama clan were always close to nature and spirituality. In fact we used to be exorcists too, the elders used to tell me stories about how our ancestors used to exorcize spirits, both malevolent and benevolent. I snuck into the house’s library once and I found somewhere that the Mishima clan used to be exorcists as well.”
“Hmph,” Kazuya sneakered and grinned. “It's an interesting story. You know, my grandfather used to tell me stories too. About our Ancestors. We were mighty warriors of the emperor, brave and strong, and known as no other”
“Who was the first Ancestor Mishima known?” Jun leaned at him, smiling softly. She was clearly interested in that topic. “Our first ever ancestor described was a man named Shun Kazama, he lived more than 1000 years ago in Japan. He died of old age in his sleep, in fact he lived for 280 years. The books in my clan’s library described him as a noble and peaceful man. He invented and taught his son Kazama Ryu which he passed on to his child and so on.” Jun looked at the sky, with the wind in her hair, and then said to Kazuya. “He reminds me a bit of your grandfather Kazuya, considering how you described him to me. He must’ve lived a nice life here”
“He did.” Kazuya was grimacing at the horizon now “before Heihachi took everything from him.”
“That’s awful, I am so sorry-”
“Heihachi being the head after his and my mom’s death was a knife in the heart for me. I wanted nothing more than to get revenge for both of them, once i grew up i would-” Kazuya took deep breaths, gripping his hand, but he was caught short when Jun placed her hand on his chest, right on his scar, making feel at ease and his breathing easier.
He looked at her and said
“Our clan’s history started with a warrior named Jinryu Mishima, they called him the mighty dragon during his prime 1500 years ago, he was an exorcist who traveled to China, Korea and all across Europe to learn spells and train his body in Martial arts. After obtaining all that knowledge about the mind and body from across the globe, he returned home and exorcized evil spirits, and saved a bunch humans. He also invented the Mishima Ryu which he passed to his kids and the rest of the Clan.”
“He sounds strong, like you Kazuya.” Jun chuckled “you and your grandfather had a lot in common, i am sure if he were alive now, he would hug you so hard, your pain about the past would go away.”
Kazuya’s eyes widened and then laughed, Jun was so innocent but she was also so cute
he loved her.
